Once upon a time, Spalding was known world wide for it's annual flower parade but sadly, due to lack of funding and support, it ceased to exist ten years ago Well, the good news is, it's back!
On Saturday 13th May 2023 they re-wrote the history of Spalding - The community support was incredible which makes this event even more special. We have proved that people want it back
The 2024 Spalding Flower Parade will be BIGGER and BETTER !
Stody Lodge is renowned for its extensive collection of rhododendrons and azaleas which burst into spectacular colour each spring. A walk through its stunning four-acre Azalea Water Gardens, believed to be the largest single planting of brightly-coloured Azalea mollis in the country (over 2,000 plants), is a truly unique experience. Don't forget we include Cream Tea
as part of our visit too.
The Artisan Cheese Fair is the UK’s largest cheese fair with around 50-60 Artisan Cheesemakers from across the UK and Ireland who between them make some 300 cheeses. Other food & drink stands include; wine, spirits, pies, cider, cakes, beer etc. Hot Street Food.
Workshops, Tutored Tastings, Food Theatre and Entertainment. Our visit includes a stop in Oakham on the way too.
A Jacobean-style house full of rich history, from a monastic priory to 20th-century home. A garden for every season including a winter garden, herbaceous border, rose garden, formal garden and dahlia garden. There's also a Watermill and extensive ground to explore too.
On the return journey we also visit Bressingham Garden Centre for approximately 11/2 hours.
There are few places in Britain more picturesque than Constable Country in Suffolk. Set within Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this rural landscape was where the painter John Constable was born, and where he painted his most celebrated works. John Constable was born in 1776 in East Bergholt, a village on the River Stour in Suffolk. Throughout his he felt great affection for the Suffolk landscape and the villages surrounding his home, telling a friend: “I should paint my own places best; painting with me is but another word for feeling.”
All Aboard the Caversham Lady as we explore Wind in the Willows country... Our most popular trip takes you to Mapledurham Lock, which feels a world away from life in Reading. Following the Thames upstream, you will see wildlife, open countryside, islands and look out towards the Berkshire Downs. With a Cream Tea included whilst on board too - What's not to love!
Southend has a wide range of attractions making it a great place to visit this spring! The long Southend Pier is serviced by a small train and has a museum at its shore end. From relaxing on the 7 miles of beautiful beaches to an adrenaline-filled trip to Adventure Island, there’s something for everyone! Even if the weather isn’t looking great there’s still loads to do!
