Check Out our Latest Update HERE...
We released our 2019 DayBreak Programme at the start of January - Check out company director Matthew Wrights thoughts HERE...
Hello, Hello, Hello – and Happy New Year to you all...
Q. Wrights Coaches released its 2019 DayBreak Calendar last week; has it gone down well...?
A. WOW – I’m not sure any words I can use will describe the uptake. Its great to see the bookings coming in already for our 2019 calendar – What’s surprised and pleased me the most is to what extent. Some Excursions are approaching Half Full already – and we’ve only been taking bookings for 4 days – That’s incredible. Its great to see customers returning after enjoying our 2018 selection – alongside that its great to see our Booking Agent in North Walsham (Broadland Travel) bringing in NEW customers too – So our thanks goes to them. We firmly believe the best form of advertising is Word of Mouth – and that’s proving to be the case with neighbours joining friends on excursions, or passing on details too.
Q. You’ve changed the programme slightly, and enlarged it too – Why?
A. I think its important to constantly evolve what the customer is able to enjoy and experience. We’ve analysed the data from our 2018 Programme to ensure the most popular excursions will operate again this year – others we’ve put on a two year cycle to enable something new to appear. We’re also visiting the same places, but at a different time of year – Peoples lives are fast paced now and they may have certain months they cant commit too, but others they can – Its important to cater to their needs too. We’re also keen to offer something slightly different too. Hence we’re going to Whitstable on the Kent Coast, and also a Fawlty Towers, and Only Fools & Horses Dining Experiences too – These are a NEW offering to passengers wishing to board an excursion by coach in North Norfolk. We’re also really careful in listening to people – We work alongside a number of Social Groups, and even individuals, and I’m prepared to take a calculated risk and try something new... I don’t wish to create a brand which relies on the same locations, and is monotonous – I want a pioneering programme, something which inspires people, something which people choose – and above all something which people enjoy. For only our second programme I think this shows significant development and sends a real message to our customers of what we’re about.
Q. What are you hoping to achieve with your 2019 Programme?
A. There’s plenty we can achieve as a company in 2019. Primarily I want to increase passenger numbers across the programme – Some excursions in 2018 went completely FULL, others we used multiple vehicles – others went only half full. We’ve carefully evaluated what we’re offering – We’ve listened, and we’re excited to see what the next 12 months hold. More importantly though – I want to ensure we’re constantly at the top of our game. I want to ensure what we’re offering is a quality product, reasonably priced, and something for everyone to enjoy. North Norfolk has an older population (Higher than the national average) and I think its vital to take those people on the journey with us too. I want everyone; regardless of their situation to feel welcome, safe, and enjoy what we offer. I love it when we get someone new board the coach on their own, maybe a widow, and they travel alone for the first time – and they make a new friend, they enjoy the day, and then after that they have a new travel companion. We have people we 6 months ago didn’t know each other, now travel together, or if we stop for a meal they all sit together – and that’s a real benefit of Coach Travel. I would hate for anyone to think they cant join us, or the fear of loneliness. I would actively encourage anyone to give us a ring – and we’ll discuss the best thing for you. Anyone in the office is available to talk to; no-ones rushed – and I think that’s important. I’m also a firm believer that Coach Travel, and visiting somewhere new, or meeting new people can do wonders for peoples Mental Health. That would be the best achievement of the 2019 Programme – Combatting people at risk, getting them to join us, and giving them a reason to smile.
Q. Do you have any other plans for 2019?
A. Yes – We’re close to finalising our Weekend & Short Break programme for this year too – There wont be many – But there will be an offering of Weekend visits and Short Breaks 3-4 Days too. I’m really excited about these – I just need to Dot the I’s and Cross the T’s and then we’re there. Other than that - regarding Private Coach Hire i’m excited to see what 2019 brings. We’ve had a couple of big losses this year in terms of Norfolk operators – Operators who I think we could all learn a lot from with a huge wealth of experience. Its a shame to see those names disappear. From a business point of view – I think it will be a very interesting year.
Q. Any final thoughts...?
A. Just quickly – We’ve enclosed this years Programme in our nifty Presentation Folders – These are a little creation by Broadland Digital & Creative Waves Printing – We’re delighted with the outcome. I would actively encourage everyone who books to take their programme out, when we post your tickets out – Put them inside the folder, for safe keeping and then bring it with you on the date of travel. They’re designed to be a year round solution to keeping tickets etc safe – I hope people use these to their full potential.
Q. Thank You Matthew.
A. No – Thank You
