Kensington Palace & Gardens and Free Time in Hyde Park

Off to the capital we go - to spend a fascinating day visiting Kensington Palace, followed by some relaxing free time in the nearby Hyde Park.

We begin the day by exploring the palace itself, where the State Apartments and historic rooms will provide a glimpse into royal life. You could see beautifully decorated rooms, historic furniture, and fascinating exhibits detailing the lives of past residents, including Queen Victoria and Princess Diana. Highlights could include the King’s and Queen’s State Apartments, the Sunken Garden, and special exhibitions that may be on display during your visit. Audio guides or information panels will help you learn about the palace’s rich history as you move through each room. After touring the palace, you could step outside into the surrounding gardens and enjoy a stroll through the beautifully maintained grounds. The Sunken Garden, in particular, will be at its most vibrant in summer, providing a perfect photo opportunity or a peaceful place to pause and enjoy the atmosphere.

Later, you can spend the afternoon at leisure as we include some free time in Hyde Park, just a short walk from the palace. You could enjoy a leisurely stroll along the tree-lined paths, relax by the Serpentine, or watch swans and boats on the water. For a more active experience, you could hire a pedal boat, visit the Diana Memorial Fountain, or simply find a spot to enjoy a picnic while taking in the greenery and open space.

You could begin by exploring the main areas of Wisley, taking in the highlights that make it one of the most celebrated gardens in the UK. The Glasshouse will showcase tropical and exotic plants, while the Rock Garden and Alpine House will feature rare and interesting alpine and rock plants. You could stroll along the mixed borders, herbaceous gardens, and the Woodland Garden, enjoying the colours, textures, and seasonal blooms. The Walled Garden, with its striking design and beautifully maintained plants, will provide plenty of photo opportunities.

In addition to the general gardens, the Dahlias Spectacular will be a real highlight in September. You could wander through rows of vibrant dahlias in every imaginable colour, shape, and size, learning about the varieties on display and taking time to admire the artistry of the displays. There may also be talks or demonstrations related to growing and caring for dahlias, giving you tips to take home for your own garden.

We're off to Lincoln, where you could spend a full day exploring, enjoying its rich history, striking architecture, and vibrant city centre. There will be plenty of options for how you could spend your time, making it easy to tailor the visit to your interests.

You could begin at the iconic Lincoln Cathedral, where you could marvel at the stunning Gothic architecture, intricate stonework, and beautiful stained-glass windows. You might even choose to climb the tower for panoramic views across the city and surrounding countryside. Nearby, you could explore Lincoln Castle, where you could walk along the walls, see the historic Victorian prison, and view the Magna Carta on display. The castle grounds will also offer space to enjoy the scenery and take in the city from a unique perspective.

For a more leisurely experience, you could stroll along the charming streets of the Bailgate and Steep Hill areas, lined with independent shops, cafés, and historic buildings. You could stop for refreshments, browse boutiques, or simply enjoy the character and atmosphere of these historic streets. You could also explore some of Lincoln’s museums, such as the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, which will showcase local history and heritage, or the Collection, which houses art, archaeology, and natural history exhibits.

If you prefer to enjoy the outdoors, you could take a walk along the River Witham or explore the green spaces and parks within the city, including the Bishop’s Park and Lincoln Arboretum, which will offer peaceful spots for relaxation or photography.

We're off to explore all the charm of the Suffolk Coast as we spend a beautiful day visiting the coastal town of Southwold in September, enjoying the autumnal sunshine and the charm of this classic seaside destination.

You could begin your visit by strolling along the seafront, taking in the fresh sea air and the colourful beach huts that line the promenade. The sandy beach will be perfect for a gentle walk, and the autumnal sunshine will create a warm, golden glow over the waves. You could explore Southwold Pier, where you could enjoy the views, watch the activity on the water, or pause for a coffee or ice cream while soaking up the atmosphere.

The town itself will offer plenty to discover. You could wander through the streets, browsing independent shops, galleries, and local boutiques. A visit to the iconic Southwold Lighthouse could also be on the agenda, offering panoramic views across the town and the coast.

Later in the day, you could travel a short distance to Dunwich and enjoy lunch at the Flora Tea Rooms. Here, you could savour freshly cooked fish and chips, a classic seaside treat, while taking in the relaxed village atmosphere. The combination of delicious food, friendly service, and the gentle September sunshine will make this a highlight of the day.

After lunch, you could take a short walk around Dunwich, exploring its historic streets and the surrounding countryside, or simply relax and enjoy the tranquil coastal scenery.

We're off to the stunning Kent Coastline  visiting both Margate and Broadstairs, and enjoying the variety of attractions, history, and coastal charm the area has to offer.

Our first visit of the day is to Margate, a town famous for its sandy beaches, vibrant arts scene, and historic amusement park. You could stroll along the seafront, visit the iconic Dreamland amusement park with its vintage rides and attractions, or take a walk along the Harbour Arm, which will provide stunning views of the coastline. For art enthusiasts, you could explore the Turner Contemporary gallery, where exhibitions of modern and contemporary art will showcase local and international artists. Margate’s Old Town will also invite you to wander its quaint streets, browse independent shops, enjoy cafés, and sample local delicacies from bakeries or restaurants.

Afterwards, we travel a short distance to Broadstairs, a charming seaside town known for its Victorian architecture, sandy beaches, and connections to Charles Dickens. You could relax on Viking Bay or Stone Bay, take a walk along the coastal cliffs, or explore the town’s narrow streets, filled with independent shops, galleries, and ice cream parlours. Broadstairs also offers historic points of interest, such as the Dickens House Museum, which celebrates the author’s time in the town. Throughout the day, you could enjoy traditional seaside treats, such as fish and chips, cream teas, or freshly made ice creams, while soaking up the coastal atmosphere.

You could enjoy a full day out at the annual Game and Country Fair this September, and we will make it easy and stress-free by travelling with our comfortable coach service. Visiting on a Saturday, you could take in all the sights, sounds, and flavours of this quintessentially British event without worrying about traffic or parking.

Once you arrive, you could explore a wide variety of attractions. You could watch live demonstrations of falconry, working dogs, and country skills, or take in displays of gamekeeping and shooting. National treasure and singing sensation Jane McDonald is officially Living The Dream as she announces a brand-new UK tour and album for 2026.

Living The Dream will see Jane headline the UK’s favourite arenas and theatres most notably the world-famous London Palladium.

In support of the tour, Jane will release her new album Living The Dream. Recorded in Nashville at the famous Blackbird Studios, Living The Dream is Jane’s 11th studio album and presents her nod to Country unveiling her passion for the music boasting nine original songs and four stunning reworkings of Country classics, showcasing her dynamic and diverse musicality.

Making the announcement, Jane said: “It’s true, I am officially Living The Dream so what better way to celebrate that than with a new album and a new tour.
